As someone who has questioned the nature of their own gender for literally as much of their lifetime as they can remember and have experienced a fair amount of stress, confusion, and social anxiety because of it while making an effort to be accepting of others and to not dismiss them as weird for being different from myself, I feel a rather distinct sort of frustration and rage when someone accuses me of being transphobic because I didn’t use the right word for something at some point.

The language is so nuanced and inane it’s insane, and different people have different opinions on every bit of it. It’s SO VERY EASY to mess it up. I feel like as long as the discussion is clearly intended to be supportive and helpful, and raises awareness, then the specifics of the language shouldn't  matter.

Everyone needs to remember, it’s not always about words. It’s about meaning. As long as a person means well and does their best to do right, then support them with everything you have.
