Hmm, so these are the designs everyone’s talking about. Okay. I think I see enough here, and these designs are so intentionally posed for exactly this purpose, that I’m gonna reserve judgement a bit. I’m probably not gonna touch the manga, as for the anime we’ll just have to see them in action.
The only major…flaw? I guess? that I can point out is that…good god, some of their legs just seem excessive as hell. I know, I remember the original design, and it was a problem it had too, especially when showcasing the taller girls of the bunch, but… daaaayum. Like, Minako and Rei’s legs especially look just…excessively, insanely long. I think Ami’s are the only ones I’m -almost- okay with, but isn’t she supposed to be a bit shorter than the other girls? Because my memory may be playing tricks with me but I distinctly remember that, that she was the shortest, then Usagi and Makoto at about the same height, then Rei and Minako the tallest. But maybe that was me… I dunno, I swear I remember distinct height differences.
Anyway, as for the rest of the stuff, yeah, reserving judgement. Looks pretty good altogether, though those eyes better get GODDAMN EXPRESSIVE in action because that was literally one of the biggest draws of the original. They almost told the entire story with eyes alone!
