I think it should be canon that Dolores Umbridge gains a Death Eater fandom in Azkaban because “she’s more evil than he was!” and it makes her spiral into depression after realizing what a terrible human being she is.

good question. she’s one of those ignorant “for the greater good” fucks that’s ignorant of how absolutely wrong the shit they’re doing is, so i’d like to think it would.

Oh no, she’s not ignorant of how wrong what she’s doing is at all. She’s evil. She’s probably the purest type of evil in the entire story. She tortures other people for fun, and makes THEM feel bad about it. There’s the evil that does it for themselves, for their own power - Voldemort - and there’s the evil that does it because seeing people suffer is fun to them - Umbridge.
