Shoplifting Tumblr is so fucking disgusting omg

Okay, somebody fill me in here…is this really happening on tumblr? Are we really encouraging people to shoplift?!!!

Is anyone even remotely surprised given that this is Tumblr? I mean seriously?

If you can’t afford stuff like luxury food and things that aren’t necessities (Such as makeup, games and alcohol) than I have to words to say to you - Tough shit.

You don’t have any damn right shoplifting from businesses no matter how rich they are. It’s a fucking scummy thing to do when it puts the jobs of employees at risk and raises the cost of items for ordinary folk to make up for the losses inflicted by shoplifters who think they’re entitled to a five finger discount.

The attitude of some people….

Call me old-fashioned, but what ever happened to not doing things simply because they’re morally wrong?

You know what happens after one of your “hauls?”

The manager finds out. because in stores it’s not a “oh no one is going to notice one item missing.” In most stores, items are all hooked into an electronic database that counts how much of an item there is. When an item is scanned at a check stand, it is removed from the data base. People have a job of going and checking to make sure the merchandise is in place. So what happened when I manager finds out that over $1000 dollars in random good is missing? They fire the fucking person in charge of making sure that doesn’t happen, likely a minimum wage worker just stationed at a check stand near the door. So instead of fucking the system like you entitled brats think you’re doing, you’re fucking the working class that you yourself are a part of. The only difference between you and the people you’re screwing over is that they actually have the common decency and motivation to work for their necessities.

I worked for Walmart before. I can tell y'all for a fact that shoplifting doesn’t hurt management on up to the executives, it hurts the grunts on the bottom rung just trying to eke out their lives honestly. You shoplift, you literally take all that money from the pockets of low-level associates who are not paid enough to deal with the shit they have to deal with.

Fuck shoplifters.

Only on Tumblr would shoplifting be glorified. Pathetic. 

If you’re starving to death and need food for a day and steal some fucking bologna, that’s one thing. But seriously????? Are y'all kidding me right now. $2k. $2,000 worth of shit? Stuff this little bitch STOLE? I have mental illnesses but that is no fucking excuse for me to go around literally robbing people. You’re all ungrateful, manipulative little cunts. How dare you?! Your parents pay for everything else and then you go steal shit. Oh how I’d love all this high dollar stuff you’re going around stealing, but I have to just go with out! I hope you get caught and go to fucking jail and have your face on every door of every store saying “don’t let these girls in here ever” because you don’t even deserve to be able to have anything nice. Fuck you.

And literally people working retail don’t have time to be bothered with thieving ass tumblr.
Every time something gets stolen or someone tries to return a box with a used/wrong item in it we have to fill out paper work.

We have lines stretching across the sales floor and we have to stop to deal with your fuckery which gets us in trouble for not appearing productive to shoppers or holding up the line.

We get in trouble if we didn’t check inside a return to make sure the item is what is on the receipt.

And also staff knows who you are. Don’t think just because you haven’t been arrested yet that it won’t ever happen.

As a manager at a store I can tell you it SEVERELY hurts payroll, especially for a store that doesn’t get as much business (even if it’s part of a chain).

The stolen goods’ cost has to be eaten by the store, which gets taken out of the profits for the day and that affects the percentage of budget to payroll ratio– less profit above goal, the less money you have to pay employees, the less hours to go around, the less they earn. God help a store if they are below projected budget for the week (or year!!!)

So yeah, don’t be a shoplifting asswipe.

Actually, this has gotten so bad, that in my DECA Regionals competition this year, in Apparel Accessory Marketing, we had to do our role-play based on people shoplifting. Usually, AAM is based around ‘promote your business’, not ‘tell us how you can stop shoplifting’.

Also luxury shoplifting is disproportionately committed by bored ass rich kids

And then these fuckers be the ones threatening violence against the minimum wage workers who try to defer their shoplifting.

I had some bitch threaten me when she clearly was stealing like no bitch do not let the retail smile fool you I will fuck you up don’t think I don’t know how to use those fixtures to beat ya ass.

I’m a retail worker, and let me tell you this - If I catch you shoplifting in my store, your ass will never step foot in a store IN MY REGION again (not just us, ANY store). You will be LUCKY if you don’t go to jail for quite some time. We will make your life hell. Shoplifting isn’t cool. We work our asses off, and we’re the first to be in trouble if something goes missing. We don’t take that shit.
