i’m like so disgusted rn???

like a trans person brings up some seriously good points about the atmosphere surrounding the movie ‘about ray’ 

(and the facts that the director not only shut down the possibility of hiring a trans actor 

but has made transphobic comments in regards to the frustration expressed by transgender people) 

and is now getting the third degree for nothing? they never even said they’d boycott the movie? 

like the content of the movie might be good, it might even be touching, 

but don’t think for a second that the people who made this movie give two shits about transgender people. 

they’re apart of the same culture that tore apart the history in Stonewall and erased a trans woman of color by replacing her with a white boy

when they start letting trans people act and help them tell their stories i’ll be less inclined to be pissed off

“but at least we’re getting information about transgender” yeah at the cost of actual trans experiences

but w/e w/e let’s just yell at trans people who take issue with being snuffed out again and again no biggie
