let’s talk about the physical affects of chronic anxiety because they’re hardly ever acknowledged

- upset stomach and vomiting
- ulcers
- muscle aches
- chronic fatigue
- hormonal problems
- irregular menstrual cycles
- insomnia
- infections
- lowered immune system
- migraines
- shortness of breath
- dizziness
- heart palpitations
- teeth-grinding
- rashes
it is a lot more than just “feeling anxious “
can’t reblog enough.
- vertigo (floors are moving/room is spinning)
- urinary problems/pain when you pee
- IBS (which is more than just an “upset stomach”)
- changed taste sensation/things taste rotten and metallic
- sweats
- weight fluctuation, loss or increase in appetite, craving for carbs and sugar
- dry mouth which makes it hard to eat
- low-grade fever
- loss of ability to focus your eyes
- chest pain
- TMJ
- tinnitus
- swollen lymph glands (due to said lowered immune system)
- numb hands and feet
- rashes
- worsening allergies and asthma
- changes in libido
i could go on, really.
no but seriously I didn’t know a lot of these things were symptoms/side effects of anxiety until I’d had them for years
