I just thought this set of tweets was really important.

This is the problem when people only consider abuse physical. As someone who has survived years of mental and emotional abuse, who became hard, who finds it hard to let people in & to let people care about me (literally have said in very recent times “but people shouldnt care about me because I am a peice of trash who hasnt achieved certain things (and listed them) and is a burden”) - there is nothing more courageous an act as to cease the cycle of abuse and to let someone in.

this is also the problem with the way people see “strong female characters” as only being the tomboy who kicks people and fixes cars or whatever instead of strong female characters being people who have survived, who arent hard, who fight back by overcoming themselves, who feel and love and cry and are PEOPLE. Or what I like to call “The Sansa Stark/Arya Stark problem”. 

Plus Cinderella wasnt looking for a man, she just wanted a new dress and to go to the ball - to be something more then what she was made to feel like she should be for one night. The Prince was just a bonus.
